An update from the Lottery and Retail Teams featured in the spring edtion of the hospice newsletter.
Special donation following 2019 hospice raffle
Last December, following the Hospice Car Raffle, we received a very special donation from one hospice supporter. We were overwhelmed when the lucky winner of the Hospice Raffle chose to donate the vehicle back to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw for our staff to use when out in the community.
Ally Duncan, Lottery Manager, said,
“We were totally speechless when the raffle winner let us know they would be donating the car back to the hospice. This amazing donation really will make a huge difference to all the staff across the hospice as we visit people within the local community. We can not thank the winner enough for this hugely generous donation. Thank you!”
Tickets for Eden Valley Hospice’s Spring Raffle are now available to purchase. One lucky winner will receive the top prize of £2,000, plus there are a range of other prizes available too.

New ways to support our hospice shops
In late 2019, the hospice Retail Team introduced two new ways for the local community to support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
In November our Furniture Shop, located on Madford Retail Park, Carlisle, began trading seven days a week. The shop, which stocks a wide range of furniture, household items, bric-a-brac and much more, is now open on a Sunday between 11am and 4pm.
Meanwhile, the hospice has introduced a professional house clearance service. Whether you are looking at downsizing, clearing a room or a full house, your unwanted items will make a big difference at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
Anne Hall, Retail Manager, explained,
“We are delighted to be able to offer our brilliant house clearance service to the local community, along with opening our furniture shop on a Sunday. By offering these new services, we hope to provide people with even more opportunities to support the hospice by either donating good quality items or purchasing items through the shop.
"All items removed from properties through our House Clearance Service will be taken directly to the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw shops in Carlisle, Penrith, Brampton and Wigton or listed online through our eBay page.”
