How You Can Help
There are many ways you can support us here at Eden Valley Hospice. Whether it is taking part in an event, joining the weekly lottery or volunteering, there really is something for everybody!
The Hospice organises many fundraising events and campaigns throughout the year, in addition to supporters own community fundraising. More details on events and how to register are on our Events page. Posters, flyers and other promo material can be provided to promote our events.
Support from employees through the scheme can be set up and is a welcome regular source of income for the Hospice.
We can supply these boxes to employees to use at home for any spare change. The full box can be handed into any branch of the Cumberland Building Society, to the Hospice itself or any of our Hospice charity shops. The money will be counted and a thank you letter sent confirming the amount in each box. If the supporter is a UK tax payer, we can also claim another 25% in gift aid on their donation and a gift aid declaration will be included with the thank you letter.
The Hospice Lottery has over 7,000 players and is a regular source of income for the Hospice. Players have the opportunity to win up to £1,000 each week. There are 58 winners a week and players are also in with a chance to win up to £10,000 with a rollover.
Supporters can complete a direct debit mandate to support the hospice monthly, quarterly or annually and these amounts can also be gift aided if donor is a UK tax payer. You can set up a regulations donation online today or forms are available from the fundraising department.
25p in each £1 can be reclaimed back under the government’s ‘Gift Aid’ scheme. All supporters are encouraged to provide a declaration when donating if they are a UK tax payer. Click here for more information about Gift Aid.
Leaflets and posters are distributed for all of our fundraising events, and any support businesses and their staff can provide by displaying, or helping to hand out the leaflets is very much appreciated.
We have charity shops in Carlisle, Wigton and Brampton. Staff can be encouraged to donate any unwanted items, clothes or furniture, or can have a volunteering day, helping out in one of our local shops.
Press Releases and Social Media
We regularly send out press releases to all local media to let the public know what support we receive from the community. Anything that can be shared and ‘re-tweeted’ via Facebook and Twitter is very much appreciated. This helps to promote our events and also the support we receive from the community i.e. cheque presentations etc.
We regularly have organisations coming to the hospice to help out in various areas i.e. gardening, painting, helping out in the charity shops etc. If you'd like more information about Corporate Volunteering, please click here.
