Charlotte prepares to run in aid of local hospice
- Wednesday, 05 September 2018
This October a local woman will be running around the streets of Carlisle to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice.
This year’s Great Cumbrian Run on Sunday 7 October will be special for Charlotte Potter as she runs in aid of the local charity. Paula will be joined by a team of hospice fundraisers on the start lines as they raise money to support adults with life limiting illnesses.
Charlotte, 24 from Long Morton near Appleby, said
“I chose to support Eden Valley Hospice because it is a charity close to my family’s heart, they are an amazing charity, and they have supported and looked after our loved ones both family and close friend.
“I decided to take part in the Great Cumbrian Run because I feel it’s a great challenge for me to take on with it being my first half marathon and such a good way to raise money.”
Every runner taking part in this year’s Great Cumbrian Run will have their own memory, reasons and purpose for completing the 13.1 mile course. Whether it is to set a personal best time or to raise money in aid of charity they will all create memories which will last a lifetime.
"The thing I’m most looking forward to is probably the finish! All in all I’m very excited to do the Great Cumbrian Run.
“I wouldn’t say there isn’t anything I’m least looking forward to really, maybe the training for it but I’ve got a great group of friends and family to motivate me.”
The money raised by Charlotte and all the Eden Valley Hospice fundraisers will help the local charity to provide care, support and activities to people with life limiting illnesses. This care and compassion is extended to all the patients family, friends and carers.
