Eden Valley Hospice is a dynamic and responsive specialist care provider for people with palliative and end of life care needs. We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, flexible and committed Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly specialist team with Jigsaw, our children’s hospice.
Based in Carlisle, we have a children’s hospice, 10-bed inpatient unit and day services.
We provide day to day care, support and activities to children and young people living with a life limiting illness, complex needs and palliative care, including end of life care.
Our care is provided in a home from home setting and each young person’s care is personalised towards their own needs.
We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated people, who have the skills and ability to assist and participate in the delivery of care under the guidance of Registered Nurses.
Our preference would be for the post holder to work various shifts (12 hours) on rotation between days and nights.
Our clinical teams are at the heart of everything we do. We appreciate that, as a charity, we may appear to be a less stable option than other healthcare employers.
Whilst we can never be complacent about the scale of the fundraising challenge that we continually face, the success of our income generation efforts and our prudent approach to managing our resources will ensure that we remain financially secure.
Our teams have a sense a pride working for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. We are specialists in what we do, and we are respected and valued by our community.
As a small organisation it means we work closely across teams here and ideas for improvement can be adopted and trialled quickly. Our leadership team is visible and approachable, and you will have the chance to influence the work of the hospice.
Our staff survey reflects an employer which values people and a place where their development is encouraged.
We offer some excellent benefits including:
– Free on-site parking
– Excellent development opportunities
– Discounted gym membership
– Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
