Suzanne trained as a children’s nurse in Newcastle and worked there until her eldest daughter was 2 when she moved back to Carlisle, and had another 2 children whilst pursuing her nursing career. Suzanne has had a varied nursing career, from Nurse practitioner on a children’s ward and then for the out-of-hours service, to education and then GP practice, and has now been working at EVH for nearly 7 years. She first came into post as Clinical Lead for Jigsaw to operationally manage the Children’s Nursing team. During COVID her role changed when she also became lead for the Adult Inpatient Unit and then Day Services, progressing to Head of Clinical Services. Suzanne operationally manages and ensures the smooth running of the adult and children’s units and ensures that high standards of care are maintained. In 2026, she became successful in a substantive post of Director of Clinical Services and will continue to lead the hospice with its strategic objectives. Suzanne is also the registered manager for CQC and the Controlled Drug Accountable Officer.
