Make a Will Month

Including a gift in your Will is a meaningful way to support your local hospice, ensuring we can continue caring for our patients and their families for years to come.

Our hospice puts it’s heart into providing essential, specialised care and support when it’s needed most. But, we depend on the generosity of our community to continue delivering this exceptional care.

What is Make a Will Month?

Our annual Make a Will Month gives you the opportunity to create or update your Will with the help of local solicitors, in exchange for a donation to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice. It’s a meaningful way to plan for the future while supporting specialist care for those in need.

Not having a Will can create confusion, stress, and uncertainty during an already emotional time. Taking steps to get your affairs in order now allows you to enjoy quality time with family and friends, knowing you’ve done everything possible to ensure they are cared for in the future.

Thanks to our participating solicitors across Cumbria, you can create your Will at a reduced rate this April, providing you with peace of mind for the future.

As part of Make a Will Month, the suggested donations are £130 for a single basic Will, £200 for a pair of basic mirror Wills, and £40 for a codicil.

Step 1: Choose Your Solicitor
Select a solicitor from our list of participating local firms and book your appointment directly with them. Please quote ‘Eden Valley Hospice Make a Will Month’ when you call. Your appointment must be held during April 2025.

Step 2: Consider Your Wishes
To make the most of your time with the solicitor, consider your wishes in advance and note down your assets and beneficiaries. Your solicitor will guide you through this process when you book your appointment.
Step 3: Attend Your Appointment
During your appointment, your solicitor will discuss your wishes and draft your Will. Make a Will Month appointments cover a basic Will. If you have a large estate or complex circumstances, your solicitor will let you know of any additional costs. Your generous donation will go to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, helping us continue caring for those who need us. Thank you!
