Lake District Hotels, a renowned family-owned hotel group, has proudly announced that it has raised an impressive sum of over £7,000 for Jigsaw Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, their 2023 charity of the year. This tradition of supporting local charities has been a heartfelt commitment for Lake District Hotels since 2016, and has raised over £65,000 for various causes during this time.
Dani Hope, Director of the hotel group, expressed her gratitude for the community’s generosity in supporting this fundraising, saying, “We are delighted to have exceeded our fundraising goal of £5,000 for Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice. The unwavering support from our suppliers, staff, and the local community to make this possible has been truly heartwarming.”
The total funds were raised through a series of engaging events, including gala dinners, charity quiz nights, a Royal Ascot Ladies Race Day, raffles, festive bingo night, Christmas dog walks, staff Christmas jumper days and more. These activities not only brought people together but also showcased the business’s commitment to making a positive impact on the local community.
When reflecting back on the partnership, Martha Pardoe, Fundraiser for Jigsaw, said: “It has been a real pleasure getting to know the Lake District Hotels team over the past year and being able to join in with all the wonderful fundraising for Jigsaw.”
“A real highlight of our partnership was the Royal Ascot event where Annie, whose sister attends Jigsaw was given the floor to talk about what a difference Jigsaw makes to her family’s life.”
Generous donations which have made all this fundraising possible have come from; Lake District Hotels Ltd, Porsche South Lakes, Caterite Food & Wineservice Ltd, Pioneer Foodservice, Elemis, ishga, Herdy, Lakes Distillery, Peter Tyson plus many more.
Lake District Hotels will soon open nominations for their 2024 Charity of the Year, continuing their tradition of supporting local causes. In the past, the group has successfully supported organisations such as Amy’s Care, Blood Bikes Cumbria, Keswick School and Keswick Scouts.
