Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, are inviting those from across the county to take part in their Garden of Memories, a special place to remember and celebrate those we love.
Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, have announced the return of their cherished annual event, Garden of Memories, a meaningful way to honour someone special while supporting local hospice care.
Each August, the hospice welcomes the community to take part in a heartfelt gathering of remembrance and to dedicate names of loved ones. Anyone from across Cumbria is invited to take part by giving a gift to help provide care and comfort to those with life-shortening conditions. Those taking part have the opportunity to remember their loved one by having their name displayed in the garden surrounded by elegant Forget-Me-Not flowers, new for 2025.
“Garden of Memories is a meaningful way for families to celebrate someone close to their heart, while helping others receive the care they deserve,” said Darcie Dawe, Engagement Fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice. “Every donation made in memory of a loved one helps us continue to provide dignity and comfort to people across our community.”
The hospice will host a special unveiling on Sunday, 3rd August at 2:30 pm in the hospice gardens, where families, friends, and neighbours are invited to gather, enjoy the surroundings, and celebrate the lives of those they hold dear. The Forget-Me-Nots will remain on display throughout the month, becoming a timeless feature of the hospice grounds.
“Your generosity is the reason we’re here. Without you, there would be no Garden of Memories, no specialised hospice care—just a gap where compassion should be. Thank you for making this possible,” Darcie added.
All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to share the invitation with others. Contributions made as part of the Garden of Memories directly support the hospice’s work with adults and children with life-limiting conditions. To make a dedication or learn more, please click here.
