Local Carlisle business, Victorian Candle Co., have very kindly chosen to support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, this Christmas with a brand-new candle offer.
Each year, Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw host their annual Light Up A Life appeal to celebrate the lives of those who are missed while raising vital funds. The hospice relies on the generosity of the local community to help to fund the quality care and support provided to local families. This year Victorian Candle Co. decided to get involved by creating a special Light Up A Life candle and donating £1.50 of each candle sold to support the work of the hospice.
Suzanne Garbarino, Head of Clinical Services at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, said “We are thrilled that the Victorian Candle Co. has chosen to support the hospice in such a generous way. The donations raised by the sales of these special candles will help so many patients, their families, friends and carers. As the festive season dawns, more families and local people will be relying on the hospice for care and support, it is only thanks to the kindness of those who chose to support the hospice that we can continue caring for all those who need us.”
The candle differs from the current Victorian Candle Co. range by allowing customers to write the name of the loved one they miss on the candle and light it in their memory. It also features their brand-new Lavendar and Chamomile scent which is said to evoke a sense of calm and healing. The candles will be available throughout the festive season.
Ru Blackett, Co-Founder of The Victorian Candle Co. said “We are incredibly honoured to work with such an inspirational local hospice, who have played an important role within North Cumbrian healthcare for more than 30 years.
“Our goal for this special candle collaboration is to bring peace to those who have suffered losses, and allow them to light a candle in memory of loved ones.”
The candles can be purchased directly on the Victorian Candle Co. website, from the hospice charity shops or from the hospice itself. They will also be available at both the upcoming Light Up A Life events on Sunday 24th November at the hospice from 4.30pm to switch on the Christmas lights and Friday 6th December at the Cathedral to remember your loved ones at a Carol Service from 7.30pm.
