We are developing our Catering Department at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, and have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Chef to join our team, working in an environment where you will know you are making a real difference.
We are now in a position where we would like to be able to expand our services and offer light lunches to our staff members along with buffets for external organisations who are utilising our facilities. The right candidate will be part of this exciting increase in catering opportunities and will bring their own ideas, creative flair and enthusiasm to the role.
The successful candidate will work alongside our Catering Coordinator and Assistant Chefs, preparing nutritious, home cooked meals for our patients and service users, which cater for a range of dietary requirements. Our catering team are also supported by a number of volunteers in wider kitchen duties. The team have high standards and we have recently celebrated achieving a 5 star food hygiene rating.
You will already have some catering experience, along with a passion for delivering high standards and experience of working with a variety of dietary requirements. You will have excellent communication skills, with a hardworking and compassionate approach to work.
This is an extremely rewarding role, where you will have time to take pride in supporting the provision of high-quality care to our patients and service users.
Due to the nature of the catering department flexibility with working hours is required.
