A Mile a Day for your local hospice
- Friday, 01 May 2020
A local charity is encouraging people to make the most of their time outdoors by completing a mile every day in May to help the care, support and compassion provided to local people.
Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice’s A Mile a Day in May is the perfect challenge for everyone. The Carlisle based charity is urging everybody to take part in the event and help raise vital funds during these challenging times.
Sam Johnston, Events Fundraiser, said
“You can run, walk, cycle, skip, we don’t mind. Simply complete at least 1 mile each day for the month of May and get friends and family to sponsor you each day. You can make the most of your time outdoors and support your local hospice.
“You can encourage your Facebook friends to join the challenge too by posting a photo each day and tagging those you think will join in on the fun. Simply sign up on the hospice website and start fundraising today.”
The money raised by all the Mile a Day in May fundraisers will allow the local charity to provide care and support to local people with life limiting conditions. This care and compassion is extended to all the patients’ family, friends and carers.
As key workers, both the clinical and support staff teams at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice are here for the local community. The hospice is doing all it can during these times to continue to provide care to those in need, whilst following strict guidelines.
