European Challenge for Hospice Fundraisers

For the very first time, Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw’s fundraising will be heading into Europe as we host a London to Paris Cycle.

In partnership with Skyline Events, the five-day challenge will take fundraisers from London through beautiful English villages and into the stunning countryside of rural France before reaching Paris and ending the challenge under the Eiffel Tower. Along the way you will make friends and go on an incredible adventure which will stay with you forever.

The hospice has received 10 places for the iconic challenge which will take place from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 September. On the challenge you will be joined by fundraisers from other hospices from across the north west of England, all united with the focus of raising as much money as possible for their chosen charity.

Sam Johnston, Community and Events Fundraiser said,

“We are delighted that our supporters will have the chance to take part in this amazing challenge. It’s a new event for us and we are really excited about it. There has already been lots of interest, so now is the best time to get in touch and book yourself onto this ride before it’s too late!”

The five-day challenge will include four days of cycling as well as free time in Paris before returning home. During the four days of cycling you will cover more than 300 miles through the stunning English and French countryside with over night stays in Calais, Henin-Beaumont, Compiegne and Paris.

Skyline Events European Cycles Operations Manager, Yasmine, explains

“There’s something incredible about saying you’ve cycled from London to Paris and although the finish is always in sight, it really is the journey that sets this challenge apart from others. You start the cycle with a group of strangers and after miles of laughs, jokes and undulations, fuelled by plenty of jelly babies and bananas, you finish in Paris as firm friends.”
