Local flooring company raises almost £550 for two charities

A Carlisle based flooring company has raised over £1,000 to support two local charities, Eden Valley Hospice and Cash for Kids.
In the build up to the opening of their new showroom, S M Flooring hosted a range of fundraising events in aid of the two charities. The kindness, generosity and support of the local community helped to raise a total of £1,084 which was shared equally between Eden Valley Hospice and Cash for Kids.
Laura McDermott from SM Flooring explains,
“We chose Eden Valley Hospice and Cash for Kids as we like to support local charities.
“We recently opened our new showroom in February 2017 and we organised an opening day. Running up to the opening day and on the day we sold raffle tickets and had a name the bunny competition.
“We would like to thank all the local businesses that donated fantastic raffle prizes to help us raised money. We would also like to thank all our customers, friends and family that bought raffle tickets and guessed the name of the bunny.”
The £542 donated to Eden Valley Hospice ill help the charity to provide care, support and activities to local adults with life limiting illnesses. This care and compassion is extended to all of the patient’s families, friends and carers.
Year on year is costs Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw £3.7million to provide care, support and activities to local people. Approximately 28% of the funding is received from the NHS with the remaining £2.7million raised by the kindness, support and generosity of the local community.
